Release Date: 02/29/2020 - RFR019

Here is a new house track released at the end of Black History Month in 2020, a leap year, created with a longing exploration of past experiences to better understand the present and the future.

Between song titles from DJ/producer LARONN F, there seems to be a continuing narrative. Only time will tell what makes of his sound and story as it progresses and leads us to his latest single Nostalgia Black, which sounds like the name of a high-end, luxury cologne — that’s intriguing and unattainable. The track is reminiscent of fine eaus with unique ingredients, unprecedented artistry, and breathtaking details in the form of stocky bass lines and luminous alto saxophone leads. Nostalgia Black runs 124 BPM, a tempo usually reserved for hard hitting strains of Deep Tech, but the track stands out with a gentle, soothing rhythm and sentimental vibe. The outro of the track finishes with minimal kick drums, surly ostinato bass, and sleek saxophone riffs that strike and float like manta rays. Absent from any conspicuously modern or digital touches, this sounds released at any time in the past 25 years. Listeners hear the elements of a new sub-genre called Nostalgia House where house music creates interrelations of the past, present, and future.
